About CS for All Washington
CS for All Washington is an advocacy group of leaders from across the state who are coordinating public and private efforts at bringing CS to every K-12 school. We aren't a business, organization, or government agency. Rather, we're a coalition with the common goal of CS for All youth in Washington state.
And it's actually important that we're not just one entity: no particular organization in Washington state has the responsibility of organizing information about everything related to CS for All happening in the state. Therefore, our goals are all about organization:
Organize information about CS for All activities, policies, resources, and programs in Washington state, helping every stakeholder group contribute to the cause.
Organizing people in the state who are working toward CS for All, to help everyone build upon each other's efforts in a coordinated manner.
Bring knowledge from other U.S. states working on similar CS for All initiatives, to avoid doing redundant work.
We are closely affiliated, but not funded by, a National Science Foundation project called Expanding Computing Education Pathways (ECEP). ECEP is an alliance of 22 states and the territory of Puerto Rico that is working to increase the number and diversity of students in computing and K-16 computing education pathways through advocacy and policy reform efforts. We meet regularly with ECEP teams in other states, sharing best practices.
